This has been one of the best Italian restaurants in Essen for years. Even Lang Lang and Sir Norman Foster have been spotted here.
The setting is simple but elegant. This is a small and cozy place, it may seat up to 40 people.
Make sure to make a reservation even on weekdays, not to be disappointed.
They have a general menu which is complemented by seasonal dishes which are not on the menu. These are changed every 2 - 3 days.
Front of house Franco makes you feel comfortable and explains all the dishes which are not on the menu.
The wine recommendations are always good and reasonably priced. Of course you can always go for Tignanello or Sassiscaia.
Simple dishes like Spaghetti arrabiata are cooked to perfection. The pasta al dente and the sauce spicy but not overwhelming.
The seafood is always very fresh like the monkfish with sage and pine nuts.
If you crave for a piece of meat, go for the simply grilled filet of beef.
This place can be pricey if you go for the fish and meat but still good value for money.
Alles sehr gut! Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Nur zu empfehlen.
